Synopsis
After the events of “Batman” (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, tries to seize the reins of the underworld in Gotham. Colin Farrell and Christine Milioti talk about how they got used to the image during the filming of “Penguin”. Colin Farrell fought hard for his version of the Penguin to smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but to no avail. However, in his own series, the character is depicted as a casual tobacco user who prefers cigars.
I’ve never seen Farrell so immersed in a character
An umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton & Guests features: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). So, the first episode is ready, and it was excellent.
He’s Scorsese’s gangster, but without the ornate tongue
I mean, yes, he’s wearing a thick suit, but you’d never know it. His attitude, body language, voice – all this makes you immerse yourself in the character and see only Penguin. He is not related to any of the other live penguins, Burgess Meredith or Robin Lord Taylor. This is a New York gangster, a smart guy.
Very entertaining and highly recommended
The plot is simple, similar to Penguin Lord Taylor on CW’s Gotham. Penguin is a mediator in a mafia organization. Until now, he has served his time, slowly moving up in the mafia, and then, with the consequences of the explosion of the city dam by the Riddler and the death of his boss in this film, he sees a chance to move up in the world. Now begins the game of cross, double cross and, I believe, triple cross.
