Synopsis
Married petty crooks Lou-Jean (Goldie Hawn) and Clovis Poplin (William Atherton) lose their child in Texas and decide to do whatever it takes to get it back. Lou-Jean breaks Clovis out of prison, and the two steal the son from his foster family and take a highway patrolman hostage. When a massive trawler chases them across Texas, the couple become unlikely folk heroes and even form a bond with a captured police officer.
