I was very hesitant to watch Silo because I had such a vivid internal vision of this post-apocalyptic world from the books, and I didn’t want to spoil it.
I think the framework, events, and foundation of what made the books great are there
That being said, I’m halfway through season 1 and it’s nothing like the books in the best way! However, most of the detailed plot is completely new and fleshed out, and it fills in the gaps in things that were hinted at or covered up. I’m glad I still have a different version of the books in my head, and the show as a fun new version.
So much of it was just how I imagined it
I have to say they did a PHENOMENAL job with the casting and the sets. But the differences make the book stand out, and I love that. This is probably the first time I’ve been happy that a show isn’t exactly like the books, but I still really like the show.
