Synopsis
A glimpse into the nightlife of four vampires who have lived together on Staten Island for over a century. At the SXSW Film Festival, Jemaine Clement and "What We Do in the Shadows" The actors will reveal who they want to guest on the show. With the exception of Colin Robinson, all of the main vampire characters wear unique vampire fangs that attach to their teeth. This was done so that traditional dentures would not interfere with their speech patterns or pronunciation of words.

Co-writers and directors: Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Taika Waititi (Boy, Wild Hunt, Eagle vs Shark, Jojo Rabbit) were brilliant: with wonderfully low-key humor, sharp dialogues and intelligent It was exceptionally funny and intelligent. , without being silly or trying too hard. The film was set and filmed in Wellington, New Zealand and captured the folksy understated humor that is New Zealand’s hallmark. When I found out that the series was set in the US, I had my doubts about how well it matched the movie because I thought it was hijacked by American producers and writers.
The show also has a long-term story arc, which makes it even more interesting
Clement and Waititi are executive producers and head writers, so even though the location has changed, so are the creative geniuses behind the film. The series mostly captures the fun, low-key humor of the film, but with different characters and actors and new players not coming into play. It’s not quite the same as the movie: the movie was more honest (as apparently filmed by a documentary crew), which gave it a slight edge, but there’s little to choose between the two. Five seasons in and the show is as good as ever, which shows that the writers haven’t run out of ideas yet.
